Flaming Creatures
Latifa Laâbissi
How do you summon, in the bodies of today, buried memories of yesterday? Choreographer Latifa Laâbissi and singer Walid Ben Selim draw on a shared heritage rooted in Morocco and Amazigh cultures to bring forth living matter: ancient songs, gestures, resonances. At the heart of an installation conceived by Nadia Lauro, Flaming Creatures reveals fugitive, insubordinate figures where history had fallen silent. A celebration of everything the margins hold of power.
